Paul Razavet (Tenor) (Auray, Morbihan/department, France 1882 – ? 1957)
He made his opera debut in 1911 in Verviers in Belgium. After appearances in the operas houses of Nice, Nantes, Montpellier and Vichy he was called up in 1914 for the war service. He took part in the First World War from the beginning up to the last day as a soldier; he belonged during this time of 1. French infantry division. Straight away after end of the war in 1918 he was engaged to the Theatre de la Monnaie in Brussels to which he belonged till 1925. Here he proved himself as a excellent lyrical tenor. In 1925 he appeared at first at the opera of Bordeaux, then, however, in Paris at the Opera-Comique where he debuted as Werther in the opera of the same name of Massenet. In 1923 in Brussels he appeared at the French-speaking premiere of the Zandonai's opera ''Francesca da Rimini''. His elegant appearances on the stage made him favorite singer of the opera audience of the Belgium during the years after the First World War. In 1932 he picked up his career and then lived in Paris as a singing teacher.
