Egidio Cunego (Tenor) (Verona 1882 - Milano 1952)
He began his career during the years after the turn of the 20th century and was a respectable singer in numerous Italian provincial theaters. He made his debut in 1906 at the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan in ‘’Carmen’’. In 1912 he sang at Hyppodrome of London in Leoncavallo’s ‘’Pagliacci’’ and in the premiere of his opera ‘’Gli Zingari’’ under the management of the composer. In 1914 he appeared at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome in ‘’Ernani’’, in 1916 at the Teatro Liceo in Barcelona (as Canio in ‘’Pagliacci’’), in 1919 at the Teatro Khedivialein in Cairo. In 1929 Cunego performed at the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo as De Grieux in ‘’Manon Lescaut’’. He retired from the stage approxiamtely in 1934 and then lived in Casa di Riposo G.Verdi in Milan.
