Jose Maristany (Tenor) (Masnou, Catalonia 1871 – Buenos Aires, Argentina 1932)
He was born in catalonian town Masnou, Spain. It seems to me that he performed only in South American opera theatres from 1895 to 1905. He spent most part of his career appearing at the opera theatres of Montevideo. He survived a shipwreck when he was travelling to Montevideo to marry. After finishing his carrer he settled in Buenos Aires where he opened Academy of Music. Due to the difficult economic situation he lost his fortune. Maristany died in Buenos Aires in 1932.
