Amerigo Gentilini (Tenor) (Pisa 1910 – Pisa 1988)
First he sang in a school choir and joined in 1927 to the cathedral choir of Pisa. Then he learned the occupation of a typographer. His voice was trained by the pedagogues Barsanti and Amatucci in Pisa where he also debuted in 1939 as Pinkerton in ‘’Мadamа Butterfly’’. In 1940 he appeared at the Teatro Verdi, Pisa as Arturo in ''I Puritani''. In 1941 he guested at the Teatro Comunale in Larderello as Ernesto in Donizetti's ''Don Pasquale''. The next year, he performed at the Teatro Metastasio of Prato. Here he sang the role of Duke in ''Rigoletto''. In 1948 Gentilini guested at the Teatro Liceo in Barcelona, where he appeared with great success in ''Il Barbiere di Siviglia''. After the death of his wife he picked up his stage career (1952). He went to Pisa, where he sang with the cathedral choir.
