She was the older sister of famous soprano Maria Labia (1880-1953). She debuted in 1892 at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona in ‘’Robert le Diable’’ of Meyerbeer. From 1893 to 1895 she performed in Stockholm, in the 1895-96 season at the Teatro San Carlo in Lisbon, then at the Teatro Regio in Turin. In 1901 she sang at La Scala as Sieglinde in Wagner’s ‘’Walkiria’’ under Arturo Toscanini and appeared also at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome. She specialized in Wagner repertoire. In 1902 she sang in Rome as Brúnnhilde in ‘’Siegfried’’, in the 1904-05 season at the Teatro Liceo in Barcelona as Eva in ‘’Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg’’. In 1912 she performed at the Teatro Politeama in Buenos Aires for the last time on the stage. She retired shortly after her marriage to the tenor Emilio Perea (1884-1946). Their daughter, the soprano Gianna Perea-Labia (1908), also became a noted opera singer.
