Ettore Parmeggiani (Tenor) (Rimini 1885 – Milan 1960)
He studied singing at the Liceo Rossini in Pesaro and with Mandolini in Milan. He made his debut in 1922 at the Teatro Carcano, Milan as Enzo in ‘’La Gioconda’’. In 1924 he appeared at the Teatro San Carlo, Naples in ‘’Madama Butterfly’’, ‘’Cavalleria Rusticana’’ and ‘’Fedra’’. In 1928 he made his debut at La Scala in ‘’Franco Cacciatore’’. The same year Parmeggiani sang at the Teatro Regio, Parma with big success the role of Lohengrin in Wagner’s opera of the same name. Till 1938 he regularly appeared at La Scala. There he sang in the premieres of the operas ‘’Nerone’’ of Mascagni (16. 1. 1935) and ‘’Lucrezia’’ of Respighi (24. 2. 1937) and Rimsky-Korsakov’s ‘’Sadko’’ (1938). On 8. 2. 1936 he performed at the Teatro Carlo Felice, Genoa in the premiere of the opera ‘’Giulio Cesare’’ of Gian Francesco Malipiero. In 1937 Parmeggiani appeared at the Teatro Costanzi, Rome as Dimitri in ‘’Boris Godunov’’. During the Second World War he lost his house. In 1948 he retired from the stage and then worked at La Scala's claque.
