Ismaele Voltolini (Tenor) (Roverbella/Mantova 1889 - Milan 1938)
He studied with Martelli in Milan and made his debut in 1919 at the Teatro Sociale of Cento in ‘’Fanciulla del West’’. In 1919 he appeared at the Teatro Regio, Parma as Radames in ‘’Aida’’, the role he repeated in 1922 at the Teatro Carlo Felice, Genoa. In 1920 Voltolini sang with success at the Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires in the premiere of the of F.Boero's opera ‘’Ariana y Dionisio’’. In the 1920-21 season he guested in Madrid, Bologna and Milan. In 1922 he appeared at the opera house of Genoa, in 1923 at the Teatro dell'Opera, Rome. Here he performed in ‘’Aida’’. In 1926 he traveled with the San Carlo Opera Company North America; in 1931 he sang at the Teatro Donizetti, Bergamo. In 1923 Voltolini appeared at the Arena di Verona. In his last years he sang only in smaller Italian opera stages. He died of a heart attack in Milan. Chronology of some appearances
