Cecilia David (Soprano) (Odessa 1878 – Milan 1909)
Her real surname was Davidova. She studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory under C. Ferni-Giraldoni . She made her debut in ‘’Eugene Onegin’’, singing the role of Lisa. It happened at the opera house of Rostov-on-Don. Then she sang in Moscow (1903, ‘’Aquarium’’), Irkutsk, St. Petersburg (New summer thetare ‘’Olimpia’’ 1905). From 1907 she made successful guest appearances in Italy (Palermo, Teatro Maggio, Parma. Teatro Regio 1908, Rome, Milan, Genova, Venezia), Spain (Barcelona, 1907), Monte Carlo (1909). Death was caused by a sudden attack of meningitis.
