Elvira Magliulo (Soprano) (Roma 1880 - ?)
She received her education at the Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella in Naples with Benjamino Carelli. Already in 1902 she was at La Scala, Milan, where she appeared as Berta in ‘’Euryanthe’’ of Weber. On 30. 4. 1904 she sang in Teatro Vittorio Emanuele, Turin in the premiere of Franco Alfano’s opera ‘’Risurrezione’’. At the Teatro Massimo, Palermo she sang in 1907 very successfully as Brunnhilde in "Walkьre" and as Aida and took part in the premiere of the opera ‘’Sperduti nel Buio’’ of Stefano Donaudy as a partner of Fiorello Giraud (1907). In 1909 she guested at the Teatro San Carlo, Lisbon as Amelia in "Un Ballo in maschera". In 1911 she performed at Teatro Verdi, Naples singing the role of Elvira in ‘’Ernani’’. In 1912 she had big success at La Scala where she sang in Verdi’s ‘’Don Carlo’’. In 1920 she appeared at the Teatro Donizetti, Bergamo as Charlotte in Massenet’s ‘’Werther’’. She retired from the stage in 1922.
